The Government of Gujarat has decided to cancel the letter of Education department dated 25 June 2019. With this, around 65,000 primary teachers in Gujarat will continue to get higher pay scale grade of Rs. 4200. The State government had suspended the controversial letter in question with effect from 16 July 2020. The letter had suggested Rs. 2800 grade pay instead of Rs. 4200. The decision according to a note released by the State government, was taken at Chief Minister’s level in a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister and concerned ministers. Primary school teachers had launched hashtag agitation for 4200 grade pay on social media platforms recently. The Chief Minister has directed the Education Department to implement immediately the new order in consultation with the Finance Department and General Administration Department.

Gujarat Technological University said it has uploaded degree certificates of as many as 2,63,778 students across 28 different courses from diploma to PhD on National Academic Depository (NAD).

NAD is run by University Grant Commission (UGC) and the Education department of the Government of India.

According to GTU, it has become one of top ten universities of India that have uploaded highest data on NAD. With this, the students will get online facilities such as degree certificate verification.

While data from 2016 to 2019 has been uploaded, more data covering 1,06,364 students of current academic year 2020-21 will be uploaded in coming days. The students will be able to download their degree certificates from any part of the world and digital verification of documents at job places will be simplified with this system.
